Part 6: The Making of Divine Champion

Why Divine Champion or what is divine about championship?.

Two simple reasons.

A Champion is someone who has won first place in a competition. It implies that having that place the Champion must actively protect or fight for as a Champion.  Beyond mundane championship, divine Champion emanates from God because,’’ For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.’’ Ephesians 6:12.

This implies that most battles we face in life are either directly or indirectly orchestrated from the spiritual realm.

Some of the questions  answered in this part 6 are:

68.      Who has the potential to become a divine champion?

Archbishop Benson Idahosa of blessed memory who passed on 22 years ago & is being celebrated this month was a divine champion

69.      What will turn this potential into a reality?

‘’Water has great potentials. You can drink it, use it to wash & wash your clothes with it. There are however, many other things that water can do. Water can cook the toughest meat & make it soft. Water can move a train.

What must happen to the water before it can realise that great potential to cook & move anything? It must be exposed to fire. It is when fire comes in contact with water that it becomes steam. When water is hot, it can cook, kill germs & move mountains.

This why Jesus Christ said, we would receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon us.

…Peter did not win many souls when Jesus was around , however, after the day of Pentecost when fire fell on him & the water in him heated up, he preached one sermon & three thousand souls were saved.

70.      What it means & what  makes  a divine champion

‘’…To be a divine champion means you have God as your Senior Partner…God the Father as His Partner (Jesus Christ) was able to go about doing good…God magnified whatever they (His junior partners) did… (Like Moses) …you raise up your hands when you are about to sleep, praising God, & when you wake up in the morning you wake up to a miracle. … (Like Joshua). Therefore… is to survey your problems & shout ‘Alleluya’& they will disappear…is to enjoy in the presence of your enemies without any of them to do anything, etc’’.

71.      What is the   cost of being a divine champion?

‘’…Divine championship is a partnership. Birds of the same feathers flock together. God said in 1 Peter1:15 to 16 that the reason He wants us to be holy is because He is holy so that we can work together in agreement. You must be perfectly holy.

‘’ But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;   because it is written, be ye holy; for I am holy’’. The Making of Divine Champion by E.A.Adeboye, page 17.

72.      It is  a choice to be divine champion

73.  What divine champions know?

‘’Divine Champions know that if they want God to be present with them, all they need to do is to worship Him. God is a Spirit according to John 4:23 & they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit & in truth. Divine Champions know that it is written in Psalm 22:3, that God inhabits the praises of His people.

Divine Champions are enthusiastic worshippers.

A Divine knows that the enemy he must fight & defeat is himself. This is a very strong & bloody battle you must have to win. The Bible says in Hebrews 12:4,’’ Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.’’ The enemy inside is more dangerous than Goliath. David was knocked down when he saw a woman having her bath. Maybe, your enemy within is immorality. It may be gluttony or talking too much. Maybe, your enemy within is that you sleep too much.’’    The Making of Divine Champion by E.A.Adeboye, page 34 & 62.

74.  Why the devil has been winning & how you can defeat him

‘’ The problem with many of us & why the devil has been winning is because we are not serious when we say we are praying.

We believe that if God does not do it today, He would do it tomorrow. There are however, some of us that have been pushed to the wall & we know it has to be toady. It cannot be tomorrow.

When we get to the stage that we know that it cannot be tomorrow, we will do unusual things. We would pray unusual prayers. We would shake the heavens to such an extent that God would intervene speedily.

A Divine Champion knows that the enemy he must fight & defeat is himself. This is a very strong & bloody battle you must have to win. The Bible says in Hebrew 12: 4,’’ Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.’’

Whatever, the enemy within may be, you will not become a divine champion until you have defeated it.

Fortunately, you can come against every enemy in the Name of Jesus Christ. All you need to do is to locate the enemy & fight it ruthlessly.
