knowledge is power. My people perish for lack of knowledge God says.
In just three weeks since the February 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, over 1.5 million Ukrainian children have fled the country, seeking refuge from the unthinkable and often traveling alone to neighboring countries.
Another six million minors remain in Ukraine, many trapped with their families in Eastern and Southern Ukraine, spending the last days of the winter in outdated bomb shelters and cold basements.
Grassroots initiatives across the country are employing arts and crafts in a desperate attempt to mend some of the incalculable tolls on the mental and physical health of the youngest Ukrainians. The Ukrainian media Ukrayinska Pravda gathers drawings of the war as seen through the eyes of Ukrainian children.

Any and every effort invested to stop this war is welcomed. What is clear from the multiplier effects and consequences of this war is that no nation is really free from from its devastating social economic damages. Consequently 1Timothy 2:1-2 has become most realistically sensible as an order to practice. Apostle Paul says, ‘’I exhort, therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quite and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty’’.
This time calls for Believers to turn to their stronghold because only the known truth can set free. What are these truths?
In this dire reality of war as we currently read, see and know we need to remind ourselves that God helps, God intervenes, God delivers and God gives victory.
1. God Helps
‘’ Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied’’ .1 Samuel 17:45
‘’For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee’’. Isaiah 41:13
‘’ Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need’’. Hebrews 4:16
2. God Intervenes
17 ‘’ You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.” 2 Chronicles 20:17
11 ‘’ Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man’’. Psalm 60:11
3. God Delivers
11 ‘’ Wherein the king granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that would assault them, both little ones and women, and to take the spoil of them for a prey, …’’Esther 8:11
‘’If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of thy hand, O king’’. Daniel 3:17
’’ Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.’’1 Peter 5:7
‘’ As it is written: “For Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
‘’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
‘’ For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,…’’ Romans 8:37-38
4. Victory is of the Lord
‘’ And the Lord gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.
‘’ And the Lord gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hand.’’ Joshua 21:43-44
‘’ For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith’’. 1 John 5:4
This truthful knowledge will give us victory if we practice them.
