It would have been  a paradox for God to hate or segregate love and claim to create the world and all humanity plus everything else in it for the benefit of all humanity. And because God created man in His image and likeness, He gave  commandments within man’s capacity to fulfill them.

Valentine .The 14^th of February,  like in   previous years and the years to come is the  day  the world pauses to focus on love. This year,  25,000+ searches on Google Trends on specific aspects of love ranging from Happy Valentine Messages for boyfriend to my love and for her. Michelle Obama former first lady of the United States of America and her husband Barak Obama exchanged romantic messages on such public platforms like Instagram.  From Michelle,

Like many of the world's major holidays, St. Valentine's Day is an annual observance with its roots entrenched firmly ipagan beliefs and customs. What would God think about The World Book Encyclopedia tells us regarding Valentine’s Day: “The customs connected with the day . . . probably come from an ancient Roman festival called Lupercalia which took place every February 15. The festival honored Juno, the Roman goddess of women and marriage, and Pan, the god of nature” (1973, vol. 20, p. 204).

For the people of ancient Rome, the festival of Lupercalia was an annual ritual believed to ward off evil spirits and increase fertility. Lupercalia (also known as Februatio, from which comes the month name February) was popular among many of the new converts to the fast-rising Catholic Church.

As the book Celebrations: The Complete Book of American Holidays notes, “Everywhere that [mainstream] Christians came into power they immediately adapted the holidays and customs of the people to their own creed” (Robert Myers and Hallmark Cards editors, 1972, pp. 50-51).

Pastor Mrs. Faith Oyedepo, wife of Bishop David Oyeyepo, founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, known as Winner's Chapel turned 60 years few days ago. To appreciate her wife hood, The Bishop writes,"Happy 60th birthday to my wife, Faith Abiola Oyedepo. You are more beautiful in every way with every passing day.  I'm grateful to God for blessing me with you".

I learnt two great lessons about marriage in 1995 while listening to her. She said, "I am what  I am by the grace of the Bishop my husband. Everything I know, I learnt from him". Then, she said husbands should build up their wives with love and wives should respect their husbands in humulity.

 I was struck with awe, considering among other things that the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, South-West Nigeria,  Alumnus   is a woman with an independently fertile mind having  many books written by her. She can pass as the most prolific female author in Nigeria.
They  are blessed with four children – David Jr. Isaac, Love and Joys. 

The Senior Pastor  of Winners Chapel and the Chancellor of Covenant University, Bishop David Oyedepo tops the Forbes list of richest pastors in the world with a net worth of $150 million.

According to Forbes, Oyedepo heads the single largest church in the world, which is otherwise known as Winners’ Chapel.

The United States federal government began partial shutdown at midnight Friday after Senate Democrats voted to block a bill over immigration and spending.

A measure to fund the government until the middle of February was passed in the House of Representatives on Thursday. But the Republican-led Senate was unable to sway enough Democrats to vote for the bill that would have kept agencies open.

The shutdown comes after the collapse of bipartisan talks on a US spending bill that hinged on continued protections under the DACA programme for undocumented immigrants, which Democrats support.

It would deliver a "direct and indirect impact" on the US economy, Beth Ann Bovino, a senior economist at financial ratings agency Standard and Poor's (S&P), told Al Jazeera.

The greatest Christmas gift in 2017 is the recognition of Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel by the United States of America.

The Czech Republic also followed the footsteps of the US and said it recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of the state of Israel.
