celebrates Bishop David Oyedepo @ 65 years today. Here, we celebrate honesty,
truth & integrity personified. This time, we focus on financial integrity.
When in your
youth, you follow someone for about 2 decades @ close touchy proximity, you know
many things by experience and knowledge. As you ponder ideas told you and they congeal into concrete realities on global scale, that grabs your attention.
Bishop David Oyedepo, speaks with authority. Read a few below.
church funds have never mistakenly got into my pocket’’.
‘’ I do not
take advantage of my church members. God brought them. They are Gods people. I
have never called on any church member or friends for financial reasons and I
have quite a number of important people in high places’’. ‘’
came here, have you been put under pressure to give? ‘’
church has never borrowed’’.
At a point, a financial Institution put this last quote to test. The church was building
its University, Covenant University and definitely should need financial
assistance. The management approached the Bishop to help out with an
unsolicited loan of One Billion Naira. He rejected the offer.

Insecurity. Unemployment. Poverty.
Greed. Dissatisfaction. Disappointment. Deceit. Kidnappings and killings.
Adolescent and Adult delinquencies. Disease, sickness and death, etc.
These countless and nameless other
weighty matters or challenges defile geographic boundaries, economic or

They become news when they

NUMBERS, FACTS AND TRENDS SHAPING YOUR WORLD
Poll by Pew Research

AUGUST 1, 2018 Why Americans Go (and Don’t Go) to Religious Services Many cite practical or personal reasons, rather than lack of belief, for staying home
In recent years, the percentage of U.S. adults who say they regularly attend religious services has been declining, while the share of Americans who attend only a few times a year, seldom or never has been growing. A new Pew Research Center survey finds that the main reason people regularly go to church, synagogue, mosque or another house of worship is an obvious one: to feel closer to God. But the things that keep people away from religious services are more complicated.
Among those who attend no more than a few times a year, about three-in-ten say they do not go to religious services for a simple reason: They are not believers. But a much larger share stay away not because of a lack of faith, but for other reasons. This includes many people who say one very important reason they don’t regularly attend church is that they practice their faith in other ways. Others cite things they dislike about particular congregations or religious services (for example, they haven’t found a church or house of worship they like, or they don’t like the sermons). Still others name logistical reasons, like being in poor health or not having the time to go, as very important reasons for not regularly attending religious services.
