When Ukraine Became A Christian Nation In A Day

''Who has heard of such a thing? Who has seen such a thing? Shall a land be born in one day? Or shall a nation be brought fought in a moment? For as soon as Zion was in labor, she brought forth her children.'' Isaiah 66:8

The footnote in the Amplified Bible comments that, ''Never in the history of the world had such a thing happened before - but God keeps His word. As definitely foretold,'above', '' and in Ezekiel 37:21,22, Israel became a recognized nation, actually ''born in one day''. After being away from their home land for almost two thousand years, the Jews were given a national home land in Palestine by the Balfour Declaration in November, 1917.

In 1922, the League of Nations gave Great Britain the mandate over Palestine. On May 14, 1948, Great Britain withdrew her mandate, and immediately Israel was declared a sovereign state, and her growth and importance among nations became astonishing''.

But 960 years, in 988, before this event a similar but a much more event of spiritual significance and proportions took place in Kiev, Ukraine. While Israel's dispersion came out of disobedience to God's word, Ukraine's birth as a Christian nation came in obedience to God's word. The Quest For a New Religion Results in the Christianization of a Nation in a Single Day in 988 '' To the Protestant mind, conversion is understood in terms of an individual's act of dedication and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. But the idea of a whole people turning to Christ at the command of a ruler seems inconceivable. Yet in 988, Prince Vladimir of Kiev, in the Ukraine, ordered his subjects to gather at the River Dnieper to receive the rite of baptism, thereby establishing Christianity as the religion of Kievan Russia.

60 ‘’ Must - Know’’ Facts About Christianity in Afghanistan

Mullah Baradar.Likely new Afghan president

'' Hussain Andaryas estimates there are 200- 800 Afghan Christians worldwide. He bases that figure on messages sent to his ministry since it began in 1996. Even if some of those messages were not genuine, he said, the number would be more than evened out by Christians living in remote areas without access to computers. However, the Pashtun translation of the bible has a lot of grammatical errors meaning that the number of Pashtuns of Afghanistan who are a Christian would be very, very low, or quite possibly none at all. Convert Case Sparks Surge of Interest in Christianity Among Afghans''

"We are Christians by the one name of the Messiah. As regards our customs our brethren abstain from everything that is contrary to their profession.... Parthian Christians do not take two wives.... Our Bactrian sisters do not practice promiscuity with strangers. Persians do not take their daughters to wife. Medes do not desert their dying relations or bury them alive. Christians in Edessa do not kill their wives or sisters who commit fornication but keep them apart and commit them to the judgment of God. Christians in Hatra do not stone thieves" (quoted in Mark Dickens: The Church of the East Archived 25 April 2017 at the Wayback Machine)

Insecurity. Unemployment. Poverty. Greed. Dissatisfaction. Disappointment. Rape. Deceit. Kidnappings and killings. Adolescent and Adult delinquencies. Disease, sickness and  Death, etc.

These countless  and nameless other challenges are not constrained by  geographic boundaries, economic or political blocs. They are as historic as ancient as they are modern and contemporary.

They merely become news when they take on new personalities or methods or visit our climes.

Behind them are unseen forces killing, destroying and stealing. But there is a greater force that has come to give  abundant life to all dead issues.

We all have mothers.

Male and female. We all have mothers. The mother who is a mother to a son or a daughter was herself a daughter to a mother.  But there was a man who did not have a mother.  Infact, a man without genealogy. This man without a mother is Melchizedeck   otherwise called the king of righteousness.

’’ For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. ‘’ Hebrew 7:1-3

Motherhood is a grant from God. God bid it in a blessing at the creation of man. ‘’ And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth,…’’. Genesis 1:28

This Edenic Covenant, the first of the eight great covenants of scripture which fashion life and salvation, has seven elements. The man and woman in Eden were responsible first and foremost to replenish the earth with a new order-man.

‘’ And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,

And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession. ‘’ Genesis 48:3, 4.

‘’ ‘’ Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body,’’ Deuteronomy 28:4

So as the capacity for motherhood was bestowed or given to Eve so every other mother. This article focuses on the mother in its natural relationship context like in Mathew 1:18, ‘’ Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost’’, and the lessons we can learn from the lives of seven prominent mothers in scripture. Mother is all embracing of grandmother,’’ Then I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, ‘’. 2Timothy 1:5; step mother, ‘’and he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, what is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? ‘’. Genesis 37:10; a female ancestress,’’ And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living’ ’Genesis 3:20 or a benefactress,’’ The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.’’. Judges 5:7

‘Motherhood was considered the chief blessing for women all through scripture. From the first events following the creation of Eve, the admonition to be fruitful and multiply, along with the designation of Eve as the ‘’mother of all living’’, woman’s ability to conceive and bear was considered her most powerful quality’. Beyond this capability, the purpose of scripture has more to offer about motherhood.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. ‘’ 2Timothy 3:15-17

Scripture also admonishes that we should be followers of them who obtained the promise by faith. Upon this foundation, we are looking at lessons from the motherhood of Rebekah, Rahab, Deborah, Ruth, Esther, Bathsheba, and Jezebel.

1.       Rebekah (Genesis 22:23) 19th Century B.C.

Be kind to strangers, they may be God’s messengers.

‘’ Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares’’. Hebrews 13:10

Favouring one child over another often causes problems among the children

Deception is never justified, leads to trouble, and God never blesses it.

Do not try to manipulate others to get your own way.

2.       Rahab (Joshua 2:1) 12th Century B.C.

Walk by faith and not by sight.’’ (For we walk by faith, not by sight :)’’ 2 Corinthians 5:7

Believe in the power of God shown throughout the Bible

Don’t think only of yourself being saved, pray for your entire family to be saved

If a common harlot of Canaan could become an uncommon saint of faith and courage and receive the privilege of motherhood in the line of Jesus Christ, then surely nothing is impossible with God.

‘’ For with God nothing shall be impossible’’. Luke 1:37

God can take the blackest life and make it white as snow.

By receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, His blood redeems us, sanctifies us, and continually cleanses us from all sin.

‘’ Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. ‘’ Hebrew 13:12

‘’ Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

1Pe 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

1Pe 1:20 who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, ‘’ 1Peter 1:18-20

‘’ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. ‘’. 1 John 1:7

‘’ And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, ‘’ Revelation 1:5

3.       Deborah (Judges 4:4) 12th Century B.C.

If God has a work for us and we turn it down, He will find someone else to do it

No matter how strange and different it may seem to others, always do the right and proper thing

If God gives you words to say to another person, and you’re certain they were from God, say them, whether the other person accept them or not.

God’s work done God’s way is always triumphant.

4.       Ruth (Ruth 1:4) 12th Century B.C.

Loyalty

Steadfast love

Kindness

Humility

The value of others

The need to understand one another

No matter how bad things may be, goodness can exist, if we are willing to make the effort

5.       Esther (Esther 2:7) 5th Century B.C.

When we need help we cannot go it alone, God is more than willing to help us if we will ask him

Faith and courage will often bring to us the thing that we need

6.       Bathsheba (2 Samuel 11:3) 10th Century B.C.

Even though we may be truly sorry for our sins and repent, there may still be consequences because of them- we can be forgiven for breaking the window, but we still have to sweep up the broken glass and repair the window

Where there is sin, there are consequences, but where there is God’s grace, there is restoration and healing.

God never brings us to condemnation and chastisement without offering us grace and healing

7.       Jezebel. Timeless lessons from a godless mother (1 Kings 16:31) 9th Century B.C.

Those who live evil lives always want others around them who also live evil lives

God has told us to come out and be separate from the world, from sinners, because they may drag us back down into our old ways.

‘’ Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, ‘’ 2 Corinthians 6:17

Often a husband or wife who is not a Christian will try to turn their spouse away from Christ

Flee from sexual immorality, love of money and power, and idolatry.

‘’

1 Corinthians 10-14

‘’ But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness’’ 1 Timothy 6:11

‘’ Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. ‘’ 2 Timothy 2:22

Though evil may seem to prosper for a time, God will always punish evil in His way and in His time
